PLANNING

 The Ohio Township Planning Commission works to effectively plan and manage for the growth and development of Ohio Township through sound municipal planning and development practices. In addition, the Commission coordinates and reviews the Township Comprehensive Plan. A copy of the comprehensive plan can be purchased at the municipal building.

The commission can meet twice a month. The regular meeting is held on the 3rd Monday of each month and, if needed, the workshop meeting is held on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings are held at Ohio Township Community Park's Nature Center at 325 Nicholson Road, Sewickley, PA 15143 unless otherwise noted.

ZONING

All questions pertaining to zoning in Ohio Township should be directed the Zoning Officer. The Zoning Ordinance was updated in August 2012. Click here for a copy of Zoning Ordinance #305. Click here of the current zoning map as amended on June 4, 2018 by Ordinance #325. A copy can be purchased at the municipal building.  The Subdivision and Land Development ordinance is also available for purchase at the municipal building. 

The Zoning Hearing Board conducts hearings and makes decisions in accordance with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. Applications for variances from particular zoning ordinance regulations and information on current fees can be obtained from the township office. The Zoning Hearing Board meets as needed on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at Ohio Township Community Park's Nature Center at 325 Nicholson Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.
