Criminal Investigations Division

Tasked with providing complete, comprehensive police services to our eight communities necessitated the formation of a formal criminal investigations division in 2008. The Ohio Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division consists of two positions, currently staffed by Detective D. Ryan Ging and Officer Sheridan David Rose. This unit is responsible for investigating crimes of a more serious nature such as armed robbery, sexual assault, burglary, and rape.

In the interest of preserving forensically sensitive evidence, as well as to provide comprehensive investigative assistance to our residents and visitors alike, these two officers  are trained and certified in a myriad of topics. Both criminal investigators are continuously sent to various classes such as basic and advanced crime scene investigations, cyanoacrylate techniques, forensic interviews, and criminal interviewing techniques.

The Criminal Investigations Division maintains a proactive role in actively monitoring for arrest/bench warrants issued upon any wanted person within our municipalities. Additionally, to ensure our residents’ safety, the division also works closely with The Megan’s Law Unit from The Pennsylvania State Police and verifies offenders comply with all statutes and regulations.
